Island of Winds is an adventure game set in a fantastical 17th century Iceland.
My part in the creation of this yet unreleased game was as a Game Designer and Software Engineer. I focused especially on systems design work and implementation. I contributed towards the implementation of the games’ various systems and their documentation. With the others on the game design team, I made various design decisions in regards to the game mechanics in Island of Winds. Focusing especially on the combat system in the game, which then was thoroughly documented and communicated with the rest of the development team. I also overhauled the creature / enemy AI systems within the game, to improve the functionality of the fantastical creature behavior and movement. This overhaul also made the AI systems easier to work with and to expand upon.
